Spanish book

There are many tools if you are trying to learn Spanish, but I wanted to share with you, what I think about one specific tool I’ve personally used to teach Spanish. Here’s our review on the Spanish book «Complete Spanish Grammar«

Remember, this is an opinion based in experiences with CAD Members looking to learn Spanish.

Also, I’d like to start by saying it’s very simple to use even if you’re not a language teacher, this tool might help you out on learning Spanish by yourself. “Might” because it’s still not perfect without putting in the practice.

I’ve been using it for a while since it’s helpful to practice structure, listening, vocabulary and speaking. Yes, speaking. Almost everything you need to start learning Spanish basics is in this book. But, be aware that it’s very important to have the right motivation, for us that’s the key when trying to learn by yourself and using these types of tools.

This edition is a complete inside of how Spanish language works; exercises, explanation in English, exercises where you’ll need to translate and true or false items are part of this book.

Personally, what I like the most about the structure of the book is that you’re able to understand the lesson thanks to the explanations. These explanations are (once again) in English, that way, the author avoids any misconceptions, it makes the student feel less stressed and the content is “easier” to understand.

What can I learn in this Spanish book?

The topics are simple and basic, however it shows some tenses used in intermediate level, so we could say that finishing this book will leave you on an intermediate level.

It gives you the form of using the verbs, tenses and explains when to use certain words according to the context through different exercises after the explanation, of course. It will always show the structure with examples before the exercises.

The understanding practice is used through an app that comes with the book, it is free and you’ll have access to audio of the same exercises that you have in the book. This way you’ll be able to read and listen at the same time.

Inside the book you will find a glossary to use as a dictionary, this will help you to look for words you don’t know or you want to remember.

Spanish App

We haven’t stressed it enough, this book HAS AN APP! Now, even if you don’t consider yourself a great reader, this App might help you out. Here, take a look at these pictures…

Why you should give it a try

I personally haven’t found another Spanish book that has an app to practice along with the lessons. In my opinion, it’s a perfect option if you want to learn by yourself. It also gives you all the answers at the end of the book, in case you feel stuck or you want to make sure you understood the lesson.

CAD Members have told me they wanted to follow a structured guideline. So, we usually work with this Spanish book inside and outside class, because it allows them to actually check if they’re correct or not. This helps them feel more comfortable about measuring their progress by using the book and together we review the lessons.
